Cyber Warriors secure third straight state title
February 12, 2017The Indiana Tech Cyber Warriors won their third straight state championship in the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC), beating competition that included Purdue University and Indiana University. The Cyber Warriors will participate in the Erich J. Spenger Midwest Regional CCDC, March 17-18, against èƵs from Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Missouri and Wisconsin. Top èƵs from the regional will qualify for the national championship in San Antonio, April 13-15.
Cyber defense èƵs build and defend their mock production business infrastructure from professional “hackers” who are given the challenge to take each èƵ’s production systems offline and breach their security. While the èƵs work hard to fend off “hackers,” the competition judging staff will deploy network enhancement and upgrade challenges to èƵs, judging èƵ’s performance, scoring and supporting the overall event.
